Canola Oil Production Line Introduction

This Canola Oil Production Line is a compact, efficient, and flexible setup designed for small-scale canola oil processing plants to extract canola oil by mechanical pressing method, with capacities typically ranging from 1 to 20 tons per day (TPD). The complete canola oil processing including canola seeds cleaning, roasting, oil pressing, and crude oil refining. Equipped with automatic feeders to increase production efficiency and save labor. The oil press machine featured automatic barrel heating, pressing, and oil filtering. The oil refining plant enhances the oil’s flavor, color, and shelf life by removing impurities. This Canola Oil mill plant is perfect for small businesses or individuals aiming to produce high-quality canola oil with minimal investment and operational complexity.

We also offer large canola oil extraction plants that extract oil from canola cake by solvent for medium and large-scale canola oil production. Our canola oil production lines can be customized according to your requirements.

Canola Oil Production Line Working Process

The canola oil production line is a multifaceted process that combines modern technology and traditional practices to produce highly valued canola oil. From seed preparation to pressing and refining, each step is crucial in ensuring the oil’s purity, flavor, and nutritional value.

1. Canola Seed Cleaning and Preparation

The cleaning process can reduce the abrasion of equipment, ensure safe operation, reduce oil loss, increase oil yield, and improve the quality of oil and oil cake. The canola oil extraction plant adopts a canola selector, gravity destoner, and magnetic separator to remove the clay, stone, metal, and other impurities in the Canola.

2. Canola Seed Roasting

Adopt rotary roasters or flat-bottom roasters for roasting to achieve the desired temperature and moisture. The flat-bottom roaster adopts conduction oil as the heat source and stirs the materials with the mixing blade. The rotary roaster has the canola turned within the rotating drum for uniform heating.

3. Mechanical Oil Pressing (Screw Press)

Extract the majority of oil from canola seeds through direct pressure. With the aid of a feeder, the roasted rapeseeds enter the canola oil press machine. The worm rotates along with the main shaft to push the materials forward. With the reduction of the volume of the pressing chamber, the pressure within the chamber increases gradually. The rapeseed oil press machine is equipped with an automatic barrel heating system. Meanwhile, the friction force produces heat. The cells of the materials are destroyed and the oil flows out. When the oil flows onto the filtering barrel, by the vacuum pump, the oil is pumped into the barrel and the residues are left on the filter cloth, thus the pure oil is obtained.

Mechanical pressing is efficient for small-scale canola oil production, typically achieving 70-80% of canola oil yield. The Screw oil press with integrated filtration to remove solid residues. The crude oil passes through a simple filtration unit to achieve clarity and purity.

4. Small-Scale Refining

To produce higher-quality oil, a small-scale refining plant can be added. This optional step involves basic refining processes to improve taste, color, and shelf stability.
Equipment: Refining tanks, heating unit, neutralization tank, and simple deodorizer.

1. Degumming: Degumming is to remove the phospholipids in the crude rapeseed oil. The crude oil is preheated and phosphoric acid is added.
2. Alkali refining: Alkali refining is to remove the free fatty acids in the crude oil. Alkali acid is added to react with free fatty acid. When the soapstocks precipitate obviously, stop stirring and settle for several hours. Then remove the soapstocks.
Preheat the clean oil and add hot saline-alkaline water. Settle and discharge the wastewater. Wash with hot water for several times.
3. Decolorization: Decolorization is to remove the pigments in the canola oil. Pump the oil into the decolorization tank and dehydrate under vacuum. Add bleaching clay and stir for 20 minutes. Then the oil is cooled and filtered.
4. Deodorization: Deodorization is to remove the odor substances in the oil. The decolorized oil is pumped into the deodorization tank for vacuum deodorization by steam distillation. The oil is then cooled and filtered.
