Oil press is versatile in application, and it can be used for pressing peanut, soybean, rapeseed, cottonseed, etc. However, due to the different characteristics of oilseeds, some pretreated processes of oilseeds are necessary before entering into the oil press, which can not only increase the oil yield but avoid the appearance of trouble greatly.
1.Drying & Selecting
Before being pressed, the oilseeds need to be dried and selected. The moisture content and impurity content of oilseeds should be less than 12% and 0.5% respectively. Selection of the oilseeds is an essential process, which should be paid more attention. If we press the oilseeds without selection, the impurities in the oilseeds may block the oil circuit, accelerate the wear of oil press spare parts, lower the oil yield, shorten the service life of oil press, even result in the fault and accident. Therefore, we must emphasize the selection of oilseeds, thus we can get twice the result with half the effort.
2. Shelling
For the oilseeds like peanut, almond, walnut, chestnut, sunflower seed, etc. we need to remove the hard shells with peanut shelling machine before pressing the oil. High shelling rate and low broken rate of peanut shelling machine can increase the processing capacity of oilseeds and oil yield. Besides, a palm kernel crusher is necessary to offer integral palm kernel seeds, and a copra cutter is available to cut large copra pieces into smaller ones for copra oil pressing. We have corollary equipment for your selection.
3. Crushing
Crushing is not necessary for the preprocessing of oilseeds. However, it is conducive to increase the processing capacity of oilseeds and oil yield significantly and reduce the wear of oil press. Especially for the rapeseeds, the effect is much better.
4. Roasting
Roasting is one of the most important preprocessing steps in oil pressing, which affects the oil pressing process, oil yield, and oil cake quality directly. The oil yield of heat pressing is higher than that of cold pressing. We should add 8-10% water before roasting, then heat the oilseeds on moderate heat, turn the oilseeds evenly until the moisture content is close to 1-2% and the temperature reaches 120-130℃, then the oilseeds are suitable to finish roasting and begin to press.
